Terri Smart, based in Surrey, works with her own wheel and kiln, clays, glazes, and colours to create a unique range of pottery items. Having studied for 5 years to be an architect, she spent 14 years abroad in places such as Abu Dhabi, Paris, Hong Kong, and Singapore before finally returning to England. She completed her City & Guilds course in Ceramics in 1999. Her work is her passion, even a compulsion. She is fascinated by the feel of clay, the adventure of experimenting with new techniques, and the excitement of taking the finished article out of the kiln. Terri, not having always been a potter, takes after her father who was himself an artist.
